
Sergeant First Class Desiree Pabon was born in Augusta Georgia and has traveled across the country and overseas as a military (brat) child dependent. She calls home wherever she takes her boots off. Alexandria, Virginia is where she spent her early youth with her grandmother, while her mother traveled and completed military schools and training.
She is the second oldest of 4 and has always been the most opinionated of the bunch. SFC Pabon graduated from Steilacoom High School in Steilacoom Washington. She loves track and field and tried out for her high school team her junior year of high school. She excelled greatly and was placed on the Varsity team. She placed in all of her events at her Regional competition and proceeded to State competition. She was offered scholarships from Gonzaga University and Villanova but she decided to take a completely different course of action.
Always having a desire for a challenge, physical toughness, and comradery SFC Pabon enlisted into the Army immediately after she received her high school diploma. She shipped off to complete her Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina in 2005. Upon completion of Basic Combat Training she moved on to complete her occupational training and became qualified in her Military Occupational Specialty as a Unit Supply Specialist (92Y). When her training was completed she was stationed at the following locations Fort Carson, Colorado serving with 2nd Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division (2BSB 2ID), Fort Lee Virginia serving with 506th Quartermaster Company 49th Group, Fort Jackson, South Carolina Non Commissioned Officer Academy Soldier Support Institute, Camp As Sayliyah Qatar serving with Headquarters and Headquarters Company 25th Signal Battalion, Fort Knox Kentucky serving with 42nd Clearance Company 19th Engineer Battalion she currently is serving at her 6th assignment as the Logistics Management Non Commissioned Officer in Charge for United States Central Command at MacDill AFB Florida.
SFC Pabon has earned the following decorations Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (5), Army Good Conduct Medal (3) National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Combat Action Badge.
SFC Pabon’s military and civilian education include a long list of military training. Most currently she has become a Senior Demonstrated Logistician and is a Certified Logistics Associate. She is a graduate of the Senior Leadership Course from the Army Logistics University. SFC Pabon is a full time student working towards obtaining her B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Administration at Columbia Southern University.
In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering on her installation as the Lead for Fundraising for the CENTCOM Family Activities Association, and in her local community. She is a dual military spouse and has a blended family with 4 amazing children. You can find her engaged in the community or at one of her children’s sporting events!
Her short term military goals are to be selected into the Warrant Officer Corps as well as earn the honor of being inducted into the prestigious Audie Murphy Club. Her long term military goals are to Commission to become an Officer in the Army before retiring from the military and to always be a voice in her community wherever the military sends her. Desiree recently competed in and was crowned Ms. Veteran America 2018. She plans on using her role as Ms. Veteran America to continue to advocate for homeless women veterans across the nation at the highest standard with grace and poise, as her predecessors have done so before her.
